The infamous N Aurora Ave is home to some classic, gritty Seattle neon. Highway 99’s neon is a love letter to American car culture from auto body & car upholstery, to the drive-up motels that litter the strip. Make your way a little deeper into the neighborhoods that surround this thoroughfare and you’ll see excellent contemporary work from studios like Noble Neon (see: wine bottle).
If I’m a moth, then North Seattle is my favorite flame. I’ve called this corner of the city home for almost a decade and I can’t seem to leave. The last bastion of true dive bars in Seattle thump karaoke 7 nights a week under buzzing neon, so why would I?
